# About

BISV Hacks is a free, one-day hackathon for high school builders, run entirely by students at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, the #3 ranked STEM school in the US. In February 2027, 300+ of the Bay Area's most ambitious students will spend twelve hours turning an idea into a working product, with workshops, mentors, and every meal covered.

No experience is required, and none is assumed. First-time builders and students who already ship work side by side, and every team leaves with something real.

## Our record

Demand has outgrown the room every year. In 2025, nearly 200 registrations came in for 80 places. In 2026, more than 200 students registered, and registration closed in under two months. For 2027, we have moved to a larger venue.

## How it runs

BISV Hacks is planned, funded, and run by its student organizers, listed on the [team page](https://bisvhacks.com/team). We are fiscally sponsored by Hack Club Bank, a 501(c)(3), so every partnership and donation is tax-deductible and held in a nonprofit account.
