BISV Hacks

Privacy

This page explains what information the BISV Hacks website handles and why. Last updated October 18, 2026.

This site has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking cookies. We do not sell or share information about visitors.

The questions page

When you ask a question on the questions page, the text of your question is sent to a Google Apps Script app that the team runs. The question and the time you asked it are saved in a Google Sheet that our organizers can read, so we can reuse good answers and follow up on questions we could not answer. To write an answer, the question is also sent to Anthropic's Claude API. We do not ask for your name or email there, so please do not type personal information into a question.

Registration

When you register on the registration page, your answers (name, grade, age, school, email, dietary restrictions, a parent or guardian email, and your teammates' emails if you have a team) are sent to a Google Apps Script app that the team runs and saved in a Google Sheet that only our organizers can read. We use them to run the event: confirming your place, contacting a parent or guardian, planning food, and forming teams. Your browser also keeps a copy of your unfinished answers so a refresh does not lose them; it is removed when you submit.

Services we use

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and fonts load from Google Fonts. Like most web services, they receive basic request information such as your IP address when a page loads. Project submissions will run on Devpost, community chat runs on Discord, and donations run through Hack Club Bank. Each of those services has its own privacy policy, which applies to what you share there.

Email and your choices

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply and to run the event. To ask what we have about you, or to change or remove your registration or a question you asked, email bisvhackathon@gmail.com.
